Flexible Programs for Each Child's Needs
ABC Childcare & Preschool’s programs are designed to stimulate, educate, and entertain children based on their abilities and age. Our offerings are flexible enough to allow our staff to work with each child individually.
Educators in local public and private school systems recommend us to parents of young children on Cincinnati’s West Side.

Full-Day Program
The full-day preschool program includes a class schedule as well as child care from the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. To get the most of the program and to provide a daily routine, we ask that the children be at the center by 9:00 a.m. Parents may enroll their children anywhere from two to five days per week.
The children enjoy a morning snack, a nutritious lunch, and an afternoon snack.
Before-and-After School Care
In addition to homework support, this program offers activities that encourage further learning and fun after a hard day at school. An after-school snack is provided to tide your child over until dinner at home.
Summer Programming
The summer program at ABC Childcare & Preschool treats preschool and school-age children with exciting and informative activities. From June through August, the curriculum is much more relaxed. While caregivers continue to prepare lesson plans and activities based on exciting themes for the children, there’s less structure and a greater emphasis on summer fun.
Curriculum for Toddlers
Our staff is well aware of the awesome responsibility we have when it comes to caring for children under the age of three. Research tells us that a greater amount of growth and development takes place during the first three years of life than at any other time. People like us who work with children during this critical period help to build a foundation and future for children and families.
We understand that young children have special requirements, their own learning style, and tons of energy. In our toddler classrooms, active learning begins when your child enters our facility. These rooms look, sound, and feel quite different from classrooms designed to meet the needs of older children. Toddler learning classes are noisy, busy, a bit messy, and the children move about freely – talking, singing, and laughing.
The Business of Play
We proudly adhere to the National Association of Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) guidelines and beliefs. The curriculum and environment at our facility are child-centered, organized, and set up to promote free choice and active learning. Children feel successful because there is a time and opportunity for understanding their feelings as they master various skills.
Each toddler learns according to their own pattern and speed. We watch for signs of growth and give toddlers respect, guidance, and encouragement to carry on and grow each day. By building trust and offering support, we make it easier for children to learn new skills.
Lesson Plans
It’s important to help young children reach their full potential. One method we use is offering many interesting things for them to touch, taste, hear, smell, and see. Typical class days include painting, playing house, building with blocks, working with puzzles, looking at colorful picture books, dancing, pretending, and more.
The major goal of our toddler curriculum is to excite your child about learning. We do so by exposing them to new things to explore and discover. Reciting the alphabet or counting to 10 aren’t essential skills at this point. Instead, we place importance on giving them opportunities to make discoveries on their own about themselves and the world around them.
Each caregiver on our staff puts together a weekly lesson plan filled with daily activities. Our fall curriculum and lesson plans are extensively structured.
- Creative art
- Music
- Science
- Gross motor skills
- Fine motor skills
In addition, we also offer sensory experiences, self-help skills, multicultural activities, and group time. Outdoor play is important, and we build it into the daily schedule year-round (weather permitting). You’ll receive a copy of our written curriculum at the time of enrollment.
